Scrapbook

The place I was born, so far from where I stand
Surrounded by war and promis of a new land
I flew across the ocean, saved by love and chance
To a whole new world in the arms of safer hands
These are the chapters of my life
A scrapbook of pictures, frozen in time
Tell me your story and I'll tell you mine
We share the legacy
The story of our lives

Turning through the pages of a magazine
Looking out for pieces to make me complete
I tried new fashions and a cast full of faces
And I found myself in a calling unanswered

I can't change what's already been done
I don't want to be abgry, always on the run
This is my life and I'm living my way
And I say

These are the chapters of my life
A scrapbook of pictures, frozen in time
Tell me your story and I'll tell you mine
We share the legacy
The story of our lives

If you died tomorrow
Can you say that you lived?
Are you making choices to please somebody else
I'm tied down by freedom and the lack of discipline
Somehow I find comfort walking in my skin.

I can't change what's already been done
I don't want to be abgry, always on the run
This is my life and I'm living my way
And I say

These are the chapters of my life
A scrapbook of pictures, frozen in time
Tell me your story and I'll tell you mine
We share the legacy
The story of our lives
